midwest tango festival djs
Luis Zuleta Benavides (Houston)
Luis Zuleta Benavides joins us from Houston, Texas. He is one of the nation's up and coming tango DJs, having been asked to inspire dancers in various communities all over North America.
Mike Shirobokov (Chicago)
We are so happy that Mike Shirobokov has agreed to join us again for this year's festival. Mike doesn't like to promote himself as a tango DJ even though he has been sharing his musical expertise for the last seven years and has DJd in Chicago and New Orleans as well as at the Tango Maya Festival in Mexico. However, his passion for tango and desire to learn and understand the music, as well as his determination to understand the history of the music by attending as many DJing seminars as his schedule allows and reading up on the various orchestras, makes him, in our opinion, one of the regions upcoming DJs and we are so honored that he has agreed to be a part of this year's team.
Mark Dy-Liacco (Chicago)
Mark Dy-Liacco is a DJ based in Chicago. His DJing journey started a few years after he started dancing tango because he loved the music. And, because of his interest in the music of tango and it's history, he has become a very established DJ. Having been invited to DJ several milongas, festivals and encuentros throughout the world, he has developed quite a skill in controlling the ambiance of a milonga, always focusing on providing just the right energy to inspire and invite people to dance, tanda after tanda.
